Blog mission statement

As an emerging artist who is still very much focused on tying together the different threads of my practice into a (hopefully) cohesive conglomerate, I've decided to attach a blog to my website. I hope to track and discuss where I am at in my making processes and engage with my peers and community in a digital format not attached to social media. I have been growing more adverse to the larger net that instagram casts. I like the idea of a digital place, away from the algorithms, to share my work in smaller more intimate ways.
While the majority of work thus far has been focused on glass, I feel the call of craft across many fronts, and it feels disingenuous to refer to myself solely as a glass artist. Although, glass is what I typically throw most of my resources into, I still find deep meaning in many other crafts. I guess this would mean that I am more of a conceptual artist focusing in craft? Thats a decision for another day. Today, I am a glass artist, but I am also a weaver, a painter, a sewer, and so much more. I hope to navigate the boundaries of where those identities lie and how they overlap and intermingle.
I hope for this blog to be fruitful and intimate, and I hope that doesn't come back to bite me in the ass.
